About Me
‘‘A self that goes on changing is a self that goes on living’’. A quote from Virginia Woolf which I love! Motions of change, adventure and ambiguity is what makes up a meaningful life to me.
Being a little courageous to just try, has enriched my career journey tremendously
I have taken my creative curiosity seriously enough to dedicate time to cultivate a consistent art practice and to inspire creativity for others. This has been a mindset shift and some sort of a vocational redirection. Choosing to do both strategic and creative work and to embody a dynamic portfolio career for the long term. Choosing to compartmentalize competencies, rather than integrating them in one role or ultimate ambition. Strategic and creative are co-existing in me, so that is the life I want to live! Strategic Communication is at the core of everything I do. It’s my home, the technical skill set I studied for my Master’s (University of Amsterdam, 2010) and honed over the years. Motivated by curiosity I have always explored other related disciplines and cultivated generalist skills in management consulting and relationship management. I aspire to be a force for good in the world through the work that I do…
In 2020 I gained the momentum to pivot from the private sector to a new path in international development. A catalyst to redirect my career accordingly, was undertaking a postgraduate degree in global development (University of Edinburgh, 2020). This then opened the door to work as an international consultant for the United Nations (UN Women Asia and the Pacific). Followed by a role at 100WEEKS, an innovative international NGO focusing on direct cash transfers. For the ten years prior I worked as a management consultant at Deloitte, working for the firm’s offices in Amsterdam, London and Singapore. And, a couple of years in between working as an independent consultant in change management, strategic communication and positioning.
Focusing on corporate social responsibility feels like an evolution, combining both my corporate career and the years in international development. I help organizations to progress their ethical and inclusive business practices.
